A three bowl nest of rare Cuban Mahogany wood recovered from Key West
Three bowl nested, wave rim set
Each bowl is cut from the remaining center of the larger bowl. I like to use what I call a wave rim. I cut the tops of bowls into interesting shapes after they have been turned. I like to accent grain patterns or other features in the wood when I do this. I feel this gives a very unique and artistic pattern to a functional bowl. The top edges of these bowls were further accented with a color stripe

Large Walnut Bread Bowl
I designed the beads on the rim of this bowl to accent the beautiful grain in the Walnut. The bowl came from a single log measuring about 24" across. The bowl shows every aspect of the grain from side to side. The style is very traditional and reminded me of an old bread bowl like our grandmothers used.

"Shaping our Future"
This sculpture was part of the "Anno Mirabilis" project that I did while consulting with Masco Cabinet Builders Division in 2007. A beautiful pin was also designed as a copy of the upper piece of this sculpture. The pin is awarded to top performing employees each year. The sculpture sits in the Adrian, Michigan Office of Masco Cabinet Builders Group.
